It is the type of paper that is made from the process known as krafting. During the process of krafting, this paper is obtained from the pulp.  This pulp is the natural wood fiber. This wood fiber contains useful organic materials such as cellulose and lignin. Lignin is an organic protein that holds fibers together. This lignin gives brown color to the paper. The Kraft paper also has a high amount of Sulphur.

The Sulphur helps in the prevention of the degradation of cellulose. This cellulose also keeps the paper firm and erect.  It is unbleached and pure. But they can be bleached to make white pulp.
